Morning Star, Evening Star
North guides the sailors
count us our blessings
long into the night

weave me a blanket
made out of moments
dreams of discovery
adventures now past

will me, be still me
arms be my cradle
comfort and kindness
within your caress

sing me forever
that place far away
close as a heartbeat
our home where we’ll stay

    Hi Christine, Thank you for your kind words. We seem to have so much in common. I am also a portrait artist: http://cardiffpaintings.wordpress.com. The cover illustration is a portrait of myself and my wife.

    One of my previous occupations was as Registrar and Collections Manager at the Canada Council Art Bank. I am very familiar with the Canada Council’s String Instrument Bank.

    Hi Dennis, What a wonderful thing you are doing to help the homeless! The best way to a happy and fulfilled life is through helping others. You write beautifully and you have a good heart. I plan to buy your book. Is it illustrated with pics like this post?  I am a professional cellist and have used my music-making for that purpose as well I am also a portrait artist and I donate many works to organizations I believe in and to help raise awareness and funds for the plight of helpless animals. I adore animals. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats and used to have an Arabian mare named Kyla. She was the love of my life. We were together 21 years and then she passed a few years ago. What a heart-wrenching experience that was. Keep doing what you are doing and all the very best to you! Christine
