to abduct and assault his former wife
resulting in her pregnancy.
What kind of man does that?
We lived in constant fear
that the gang would come back in the night
while we slept.
Mona kept a meat cleaver under her pillow.
I’m not sure if I was more fearful
of the gang or the cleaver.
We drifted apart,
but not before I met her beautiful daughter.
Shannon is a sweetheart.
I miss her
as much as I do her mother.
