Come Together

eyes closed
not yet awake
nor quite asleep
arms and legs immobile
snug, secure
satisfied

I see myself
arise…
and float away…
(but, I rest here
confused)

body drifts
through the roof
no cold of night
only vibration
universe opens
it is I

female figure
appears
love light emanating
arm outstretched
in welcome
we come together
forever

  5. Mr Cardiff,
Your poetry is so moving and intimate and feeling! It surprises me because you look so masculine in your picture almost like a crime fighting do gooder! I know the last I read your poetry I commented on how it doesn’t match your looks but I am not sure why! I guess it is masculine to feel and write and move people with words like you do and maybe I should reconsider my stereotypes. Nonetheless, your very very good to greatness…. Appreciate your language and poetry…. Thank you Sir, claudy

      1. Yes, it is a heavy load to carry. I hope they can ‘reach out’ and others can ‘hear’ when they do. It is not an easy thing to deal with but like anything in this world, something shared can at least make it a little lighter. Thank you Dennis. Namaste

      1. Thanks for stopping by. I toyed with James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s World” as a contrast, but thought Muddy Waters’ song was more succinct for comparison.

  13. Pretty, pretty! Reminds me of when I was a child and used to shoot through the roof and see my house from way up high as I lay in this hypnogogic state. I’d never heard to out-of-body anything then.
