Wings

.

smsmmaleangel

.

wings to fly
arms to hold you
tenderly to my chest
never farther than a wish
closer still, than our dream.
Call, and I’ll come rushing
to stand at your side

a heart
of compassion
to comfort and console
when you’re feeling broken
or, when you’re filled with joy
in darkness and when light
shines brightly from above
for now and forever
you’ll always have
my love

    1. Hi Ann, thank you so much for your kind words. I enjoyed your post “Too Close to the Old Man’s Rear End”. I tend to be too patient for my wife’s liking, so when possible I leave the driving to her. I love to see her get behind a slow driver. It can be very entertaining. ~ Dennis

  7. Dennis, this poem popped the image of “the compassionate heart of Jesus” and the picture plays well with the poem.

  12. Beautiful. This reminds me of the story of the boy who was looking for an angel and went out to find one. He was routinely disappointed and came home down, depressed and injured from a stumble. When his mother swept him up in her arms, he looked in her eyes and said “are you my angel?” She smiled and said, “Of course, my child. I am your angel.”
