heartbeats

honeysuckle

what was once
is no more
even the memories
have faded into oblivion
stars may light the skies
and blooms of honeysuckle
drape the fence
but more than her perfume
was wasted that June
heartbeats were counted
sighs and whispers
hang on the breeze
